Women’s Health & Fertility Nutrition Support
HAES aligned and client centered dietitians at Note to Self Nutrition are ready to support you on your journey!
Note to Self Nutrition was created out of a strong desire to provide individuals with a safe and inclusive space for nutrition therapy and counseling. The name is intended to show us that we are constantly providing reminders to ourselves. Reminders to take care of our bodies, reminders to ignore hustle and diet culture, reminders to set boundaries and seek out support when things get rough. Life is full of reminders. And as dietitians, we are simply here to bring individuals back to those reminders to help them elicit positive changes in their life. It is our firm belief that recovery from disordered beliefs surrounding food and bodies is possible. Although at times it can seem like a never ending uphill battle. We would love to be given the opportunity to join you on this journey towards body liberation and food freedom.
Our team of experienced eating disorder dietitians practices utilizing the principles of Health at Every Size (HAES) as a framework. All services provided are client centered and focus on developing a positive relationship with food and one’s body. Note to Self Nutrition strives to provide support through a social justice and trauma informed lens. Dietitians have attended trainings pertaining to HAES, trauma, OCD, LGBTQIA+ community support, social justice support, etc.
In order to remain up to date regarding treatment modalities and practices and to provide the best support to clients of diverse and/or minority backgrounds, Note to Self Nutrition staff is often engaging in continuing education services and trainings.
More information regarding HAES can be found on our blog as well as from the ASDAH. Our resources page has multiple resources for clinicians and clients

For a long time women’s health has been ignored in the medical field. At Note to Self Nutrition we focus on how an individual’s hormones can impact one’s relationship with food, body, and mental health. Treating women’s health and fertility means that we are listening to the concerns individuals have, often concerns that have been dismissed or ignored by traditional medical providers.
Nutrition has a large impact on fertility. It is the belief of Note to Self Nutrition that small, incremental, flexible changes in nutrition can have positive changes on fertility. Hormonal birth control also affects many aspects of the female body and normalizing some of these changes and fluctuations is of utmost importance to those of us at Note to Self Nutrition.

Yes! Note to Self Nutrition works with individuals of all ages 13+. Adolescents are experiencing such large changes in their body and hormones we believe it is important to provide a safe space for them to learn about these changes and how they can continue to nourish and support their bodies through these very normal changes.

We have to admit the term women’s health is quite limiting and non-inclusive. Our work under this area of nutrition however is inclusive and we prefer to describe it as working with any individual going through fertility challenges. We support individuals in identifying in ways that feel appropriate and empowering to them and will respect whatever identities those are.

Our work together would look a little something like….
Working Together
Initial Assessment
This is a 90 minute intake session allowing us the ability to dive deep into your medical history and current struggles. We will explore topics including body image, your current nutrition habits and behaviors, current menstrual cycle, birth control history/current usage, beliefs surrounding food and your body, as well as any history of pregnancy, miscarriage, or loss. Together we will develop some goals and objectives for our work together to be a guidepost for us.
Building Trust through Continued Follow Ups
At a frequency decided upon together we will meet routinely to discuss your continued work on goals. We will discuss roadblocks, medical conditions that may arise, symptoms, eating disorder behavior urges, and any other situations or information that you deem appropriate. Continued follow ups help us adjust the plan of care and recommendations as needed.
A solidified team of providers is the golden standard for recovery. At Note to Self Nutrition we believe this is one way we provide the best care to our clients. Given your consent, we will be in communication with your medical providers (therapist, psychiatrist, medical doctor/PCP, specialists, etc.) in order to provide consistency for you. We welcome the ability to collaborate with your treatment team.
Continued Support
Our goal is never to keep you on our caseload for as long as possible. That’s not great for us and not ideal for you either. We want you to grow in our work together and not require our support to facilitate change and challenge diet culture. However, we also understand that this is an ongoing lifelong journey for some. And we are always here for continued support should you find yourself in a difficult situation weeks, months, or even years down the road. We welcome you back without shame or guilt and are here to help you come back to yourself.
As our work together progresses we will revisit frequency and length of session routinely to determine what level of support is both medically appropriate as well as comfortable for you.
