My Approach

I created Note to Self Nutrition out of a desire to fill a void I experienced while receiving nutritional care during my young adult years. I spent many of those years stuck in a shame and guilt spiral directly related to the medical care I received. I often wonder what if I had seen a dietitian or provider who put more value into my overall well being than a number on the scale? What would life have looked like during those years?

This is why I am so passionate about the caliber of care I provide. I recognize the void that exists in the medical field for individuals with chronic health conditions who want flexible and Health At Every Size® (HAES®) aligned treatment. My goal is to help fill that void.

I value the lived experiences of my clients and I trust them in being active participants in their care. I am HAES® aligned and believe that all people are deserving of exceptional nutrition care. My goal as a provider is not to “fix” you, but to instead help you explore your relationship with food and your body in a safe environment; and to help you rediscover your authentic self before life got in the way. I would be honored if you gave me the privilege to join you on this journey.

Providing you with a safe space to land

I understand how scary it can be to confront your relationship with food and your body. Because of the vulnerable and dynamic relationship between the two, I have done much of my own exploration into the privileges I hold, my own biases; and how they may impact my work. I am continuously learning and growing with my clients and remain steadfast in making sure they feel supported and safe in my care. I practice from a trauma informed, HAES® aligned, body affirming framework.
